Bruce Grey Mentorship Receives Record $38K From Local Women’s Giving Group
100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce closes 2025 with a record $38,400 donation to Bruce Grey Mentorship, supporting youth facing social and emotional challenges.
Bruce Grey Mentorship will receive $38,400 to support its youth programs, after being selected by 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce as the recipient of its final 2025 donation — the largest in the group’s history.
The funds, raised during the women’s November meeting, will support mentorship programs for local children and teens who are experiencing social or emotional challenges. Bruce Grey Mentorship pairs youth aged 7 to 17 with trained mentors, aiming to build resilience, self-esteem, and a stronger sense of belonging.
The not-for-profit operates three streams of programming: small group activities focused on building friendships and social confidence; one-on-one mentorship for youth needing more individualized support; and an “Adventure Club” that connects participants with outdoor and cultural experiences they might not otherwise access.
Founded in 2015, the organization works across Grey and Bruce counties and has seen growing demand for its services in recent years.
The latest donation is part of a broader trend of growth for 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce, which marked a record fundraising year in 2025. In total, the group donated $142,100 over the course of four meetings — an increase driven by rising membership and sustained community engagement.
The group’s giving model is simple: each member contributes $100 per meeting, four times a year. At each gathering, members nominate and vote on local charities to receive the pooled donation. The selected organization receives the entire amount.
More than 300 women are currently part of the Grey Bruce chapter, one of dozens of similar grassroots giving groups across North America.
The next meeting is scheduled for March 28, 2026, at the Bruce County Museum in Southampton. New members are welcome to join. Full details are available at 100womengreybruce.ca
