Aspiring and early-stage business owners in Bruce County will soon have the chance to apply for the 2025 Starter Company Plus Program, which offers grants, training, and mentorship to help local entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
The provincially funded program is delivered through Bruce County Economic Development in partnership with the Province of Ontario. Participants aged 18 and older — whether starting a new venture, expanding an existing one, or operating a business for five years or less — may be eligible for a grant of up to $5,000.
The program also provides mandatory training sessions, mentorship, and support to develop a business plan and pitch to a review committee.
To apply, prospective participants must first attend a virtual information session. Upcoming dates include:
Tuesday, September 9 (6–7 p.m.)
Saturday, September 13 (2–3 p.m.)
Registration is available at businesstobruce.com/starter-company-plus.
Since 2017, Bruce County reports that 72 local entrepreneurs have taken part in the program.
