Modern pop music hits from artists like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Pink, and more will be performed by a string quartet in this very unique concert experience inspired by the hit Netflix series Bridgeton.
The Georgian Bay Symphony is presenting The Queen’s Quartet: a Bridgerton-inspired concert at the Harmony Centre in Owen Sound on Saturday, April 26. There will be something in this fun concert for everyone.
The concert will feature The Thomas Beard and Friends String Quartet composed of young professional musicians from the Montreal music scene, including local Huron county cellist Thomas Beard, who has had the privilege of playing with the Georgian Bay Symphony on several occasions. They look forward to sharing this program with an Owen Sound audience and help raise money for the Symphony and all its activities.
“You’ve got the aesthetic of the 1800s with music that people all know and love and hear on the radio all the time,” said Beard. “It’s music that we enjoy playing. It’s just really fun music. It’s not your typical string quartet concert, that’s for sure.”
“They’re really creative arrangements for these songs, and we’re pretty excited to share them,” he said.
“Bringing Thomas Beard and his group to Owen Sound to perform this unique concert just made scenes to the orchestra. The Georgian Bay Symphony has wanted to collaborate with Thomas Beard for several years and was also looking for a fundraising event. This is the perfect match,” says David Adair the GBS Business Manager. “We are so happy that this worked out.”
The concert is on Saturday, April 26, at the Harmony Centre, 890 4th Ave East. Tickets for this fundraising concert available online at georgianbaysymphony.ca.
