Brendan Martin Disappearance: Police Share New Photos, Seek Public’s Help
OPP release new photos of man and his missing belongings, last seen in Southampton on January 18, and urge the public to come forward with any information as foul play remains a possibility.

OPP have released new photos of Brendan Martin and some of his belongings in the hopes that members of the public may come forward with new information. Police revealed today that Martin’s backpack and guitar are among the items that seem to have gone missing with him.
Martin was reported missing on January 20, two days after he was last seen in Southampton. He is an Indigenous man with brown hair, brown eyes, and a thin build. He stands approximately 6-feet tall (183 cm) and weighs 195 lbs (88 kg).
A January 31 notice from police said he was 32 years old at that time. Martin has connections to Owen Sound, Barrie, and the Saugeen Shores First Nation communities.

One of the newly released photos has a timestamp of 12:37 a.m. on the day he was last seen. In it, Martin is wearing the puffy, hooded jacket and Timberland-style workboots police have described in their appeals to the public. His ball cap is on backwards, and there is a small zipper detail visible on the outside right leg of his pants.
A second photo dated two days prior shows Martin from the back. Now also missing, his backpack appears to have a thin, reflective vertical stripe and may have a small red patch or detail.
Initial notices about Martin’s disappearance came from Saugeen Shores Police. By January 31, the OPP's Criminal Investigation Branch were mentioned as supporting the investigation. Today, OPP announced they are overseeing the investigation as “foul play cannot be ruled out in Brendan’s disappearance.”
Martin’s sister, Jessica Keeshig-Martin, launched a new Facebook profile called ‘Missing Brendan Noodin Martin’ in late February. She appeals to followers:
“Please help locate Brendan Noodin Martin. He was last seen at 4am Saturday January 18, 2025, in Southampton, Ontario, in the North end. He is a son, brother, father of twin toddlers, nephew, cousin and friend.”
Keeshig-Martin organized a volunteer ground search in early March, and posted thanks on March 9 to volunteers who helped canvas residents and business owners in Southampton. Despite those efforts and ongoing appeals from police, the search for Brendan Martin continues.
We attempted to reach Keeshig-Martin but did not hear back before publication.
Police also noted, “With heavy snow and ice beginning to melt, investigators are urging residents to thoroughly check their properties for signs of Brendan or his belongings, including any outbuildings or sheds.”
Anyone who has had any contact with Brendan or has any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Saugeen Shores Police at 519-832-2500 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
