Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre Opens Summer Camp Registration
Registration is now open for Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre’s summer camps. Offering day, overnight, and leadership programs, campers will enjoy hiking, canoeing, archery, and more.

Registration is now open for the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre's (BOEC) Summer Camps, offering a range of outdoor adventure programs designed to engage, educate, and inspire young explorers.
Operated by the Bluewater Education Foundation (BEF), the camp provides day and overnight experiences for children and youth, along with a Leaders in Training (LIT) program to help develop future camp leaders.
Camp Programs for Summer 2024
Day Camp (Ages 8-12): Campers will enjoy action-packed days filled with hiking, canoeing, archery, outdoor games, and nature exploration.
Overnight Camp (Ages 10-14): A full week of adventure, where campers will sleep under the stars, gather around campfires, play evening games, and create lifelong memories.
Leaders in Training (Ages 12-16): A three-day program focused on building leadership skills, planning activities, and preparing participants to return as volunteer camp leaders in future years.
The Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre is a 300-acre property located 30 minutes northwest of Owen Sound, nestled at the base of the Bruce Peninsula. With access to Boat and Spry Lakes, multiple forest trails, and six on-site buildings, the centre offers a wide range of educational and recreational programs.
Programs at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre offer a diverse range of outdoor experiences designed to build skills and foster a connection with nature. Participants can learn archery using a takedown recurve bow at both indoor and outdoor ranges, explore the night sky with telescopes alongside expert astronomers, and paddle across two scenic lakes with experienced canoeing guides.
Those interested in survival skills can master fire building with flint and steel or take part in a live-action survival game that simulates life in the wild. In the winter months, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing provide opportunities to track animals and navigate the forest in snowy conditions.
The BEF, an independent non-profit organization, works alongside the Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) to maintain and expand outdoor education opportunities for local students and community members.
Spots for summer camp are limited, so early registration is encouraged. For more details and to sign up, visit the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre’s website.
