Author Talk Aboard the Chi-Cheemaun for 'Then & Now: Flowerpot Island' Book
Local author Miranda Miller launches Then & Now: Flowerpot Island aboard the Chi-Cheemaun on Sunday, June 28, with talks on the morning sailings between Tobermory and South Baymouth.
Originally published in The Owen Sounder magazine
Flowerpot Island is a place where wind, water, and stone tell stories older than memory. Its iconic rock pillars, carved over thousands of years, rise from the Niagara Escarpment at the tip of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula.
Local author Miranda Miller’s connection to the island began in childhood and, as its popularity has grown, she has written this book to share its story and provide visitors with what they need to know to hike the trails, explore caves, and visit the historic light station.
Then & Now: Flowerpot Island will be launched onboard the Chi-Cheemaun on Sunday June 28. Miranda will give a short talk and be available to answer questions on the 8:45 sailing from Tobermory to South Baymouth and the 11:00 sailing from South Baymouth to Tobermory. Books will be available for sale ($20) and signing.
