ArtWalk 2026: A Celebration of Art and Artists in Downtown Owen Sound
ArtWalk 2026 returns to downtown Owen Sound Saturday, June 27, 10:00 to 3:00 — a free self-guided tour of 12 galleries, studios, and shops with demos and door prizes.

ArtWalk returns to downtown Owen Sound on Saturday, June 27, from 10:00 to 3:00. The free, self-guided tour invites the public into 12 galleries, studios, and shops to meet artists, watch demonstrations, and take in the range of work being made and shown across the downtown. Parking is free, door prizes are on offer, and visitors can move between venues at their own pace. Here is what each stop has planned.
Bluewater Quilters Guild — 769 2nd Avenue East Established in 1987, the Guild has over 150 members. Visit our vibrant quilting studio where creativity, learning, exploring, and mutual support thrive. See demonstrations by our members of quilt top piecing, fabric collage quilting, slow stitching, hand quilting, and more. Learn about upcoming Beginner Quilting classes and the benefits of becoming a member of our Guild.
Curvey Lines Art School & Print Shop — 817 3rd Avenue East All-day hands-on painting techniques demonstration plus an exhibition of recent paintings by Lesley Bankes and featuring Leslie’s newest book, How to Draw Realism.
Georgian Bay School of the Arts — 938 2nd Avenue East Located in the iconic Bingo Hall in downtown Owen Sound, this large open-concept space accommodates fully equipped studios for jewellery, pottery, printmaking, stained glass, painting, textiles, mixed media, and digital arts. Demonstrations and details on the many classes for children and adults will be available today.
Grey Gallery — 883 2nd Avenue East This is the final day to view Cindy Norton’s exhibition Fragments. Meet the artist at 2:00pm. We will also host a watercolour demonstration by artist Raquell Yang from 11 to noon.
Heartwood Home — 939 2nd Avenue East Make your own zine with local artist Heather Murray! What is a zine? It’s a non-commercial homemade magazine or mini comic about your favourite topic, personal story, or art. It’s often made using collages, drawings, handwritten text, and home printers or photocopiers, usually folded, and stapled. Spend a little creative time crafting your own zine. All materials are provided and there will be an idea jar if you can’t think of a topic on the spot. Interesting, weird, or unique: learn to express yourself as a Zinester!
Intersections Wood Collaborative — 299 10th Street East at 3rd Avenue East Intersections Wood Collaborative specializes in teaching fine woodworking and wood turning to both beginner and advanced woodworkers of all ages. We will be displaying examples of beautiful wood art produced by our students, instructors, and members. Last chance to register for our upcoming Wood Symposium in October at the early bird price!
James’s Emporium Vintage Shop — 883 2nd Avenue East (back room) James’s Emporium is full of interesting vintage pieces, everything from clothing to kitchenware, glassware, china, cookware, and lamps. James has great taste which shows in his curated collection which includes mid-century modern design, Pyrex, and Fiesta Ware.
Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library — 824 1st Avenue West Since 1914, the Library has been providing community space, resources and programs for young, old, and everyone in between. Today we will feature the launch of the TD Summer Reading Club with activities for children in the Youth Services Department as well as a special display of books about art and art instruction.
Owen Sound Artists’ Co-operative — 942 2nd Avenue East With more than 45 member artists, the Co-op will provide ArtWalkers with a remarkable overview of the local art scene. Artists will be present to talk about their work throughout the day.
Owen Sound Farmers’ Market — 88 8th Street East We feature 50+ vendors of food and crafts, including some amazing local culinary artists with savouries and sweets from world cuisines. Open 8:00-12:30, so start your ArtWalk here and enjoy the best selection of the finest food from local farmers.
Tom Thomson Art Gallery — 840 1st Avenue West The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is an open landscape for exploring art. Come and see works by Tom Thomson, as well as exhibitions by contemporary artists. The Owen Sound Tourist office is now located here as well, with updated information on Grey-Bruce.
Vintage Magpie — 777 2nd Avenue East We believe vintage and second-hand things have stories to tell that bring personality and character to your personal space as well as being a sustainable way to shop. Vintage Magpie features pre-loved and on-trend furniture, vintage housewares, textiles, and original artwork.
ArtWalk! is organized by The Ginger Press and won the 'Most Promising New Event' award in The Owen Sound Arts, Culture and Volunteer Awards 2020.
