Arrest Made Following Weapons Incident in Paisley
A 53-year-old Arran-Elderslie man faces multiple charges after a firearm was reportedly brandished during an altercation in Paisley. No injuries were reported.
A 53-year-old Arran-Elderslie man is facing multiple charges following a reported weapons incident in the village of Paisley on the evening of Thursday, November 27.
According to the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers were called to a residence at approximately 9:46 p.m. after receiving a report that a firearm had been brandished during an altercation between two individuals known to each other. Police say the victim fled the scene and contacted authorities.
Responding officers contained the area, and the accused reportedly exited the property and surrendered without incident. No injuries were reported.
On the following day, November 28, police executed a search warrant at the residence, seizing several firearms and a quantity of ammunition.
Timothy Collins, 53, of Arran-Elderslie, has been charged with:
Pointing a firearm (Criminal Code section 87)
Assault with a weapon (CC 267[a])
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (CC 354[1][a])
Collins was held for a bail hearing on November 28 and was later released. He is scheduled to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on January 7, 2026.
