Arran-Elderslie Resident Charged After Threatening Call to Walkerton Bank
South Bruce OPP say a 42-year-old Arran-Elderslie resident has been charged after a threatening phone call to a Walkerton bank. Police did not release the accused’s name or details of the call.
A Walkerton financial institution was the target of a threatening phone call on Wednesday afternoon, according to South Bruce OPP.
Police say they received the report at about 1:28 p.m. on August 20. Officers attended the bank in Walkerton, in the Municipality of Brockton, and confirmed the safety of employees after the call.
Investigators allege that an individual phoned the location and made threats to harm staff on site.
A 42-year-old resident of Arran-Elderslie has since been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police did not release the name of the accused or provide details about the nature or circumstances of the call beyond the allegation that threats were made.
