Army Cadets to Hold Evening Vigil at Owen Sound Cenotaph on November 10
The Owen Sound Cenotaph will be guarded in silence by Army Cadets in a Remembrance Day vigil on November 10. Public attendance is welcome.

Senior cadets from the local Army Cadet unit will hold a Remembrance Day vigil the evening before November 11, standing watch at the Owen Sound Cenotaph to honour Canadians who served and died in military service.
The vigil is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the cenotaph at 824 1st Avenue West and is expected to last 2 to 3 hours. During that time, cadets will rotate in pairs, maintaining a silent presence in tribute to the fallen.
The event is open to the public, and residents are welcome to stop by to reflect and pay their respects.
Captain Krista Linthorne, Commanding Officer of the Owen Sound Army Cadets, said the vigil is intended as a solemn act of remembrance and service. “I am proud of my cadets for standing vigil with strength and respect. Their presence speaks volumes, and their commitment means a great deal to all of us.”
The Remembrance Day vigil is part of a tradition seen in many Canadian communities, where cadets or military personnel stand guard at local monuments as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance.
