Grey Bruce OPP led a four-day commercial vehicle safety blitz from June 10–13, 2025, resulting in 80 charges, 46 vehicles taken out of service, and 55 warnings issued.
A four-day commercial motor vehicle (CMV) enforcement initiative led by the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in 80 charges and 46 vehicles being taken out of service.
The regional blitz, conducted from June 10 to 13, 2025, was a coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
Partnering with the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Finance, Hanover Police Service, West Grey Police Service, Owen Sound Police Service, and Saugeen Shores Police Service, the initiative aimed to identify unsafe vehicles and drivers, and enforce compliance with Ontario’s commercial vehicle regulations.
During the operation, officers carried out 96 inspections across Grey and Bruce counties. In addition to the 80 charges laid under the Highway Traffic Act, authorities issued 55 warnings for minor infractions.
Nearly half of the vehicles inspected—46 in total—were taken out of service due to safety concerns or regulatory non-compliance.
The Grey Bruce OPP emphasized the importance of regular maintenance and adherence to safety standards for all commercial vehicle operators. The public is encouraged to report unsafe commercial vehicle activity to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
