Community Foundation Grey Bruce (CFGB) continues to support strong, connected communities across Grey and Bruce counties through a range of funding, learning, and education opportunities for local organizations and students.
In 2025, CFGB awarded more than one million dollars in grants to regional charities and non-profits through its numerous granting streams.
CFGB is now accepting applications for its Spring Community Grants, supporting charities and non-profit organizations working to improve community wellbeing. Applications must be submitted online by April 15, 2026.
Grants of up to $5,000 are available for projects benefiting the community in the areas of health and wellness, arts and culture, education and lifelong learning, living standards and housing, the environment, and community connections.
Community Foundation Grey Bruce also reminds the community that scholarship applications are now open for local students pursuing post-secondary education at university, college, or in the skilled trades.
In addition, applications are currently open for Free to Play, an initiative that supports outdoor, unstructured, child-led play for children and youth. Delivered locally by CFGB as part of a national initiative, Free to Play aims to reduce barriers to everyday outdoor play and strengthen inclusive, community-based play opportunities.
In this first of two calls, $205,000 is available locally. Applications close February 24, 2026.
To support organizations interested in applying, Community Foundation Grey Bruce will host its Annual Non-Profit Workshop on Tuesday, March 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
The day features granting updates, as well as a variety of speakers and discussion focussed on best practices in the charitable sector. Registration details are available here.
All applications are available through the foundation’s website at www.communityfoundationgreybruce.com. Organizations are encouraged to confirm eligibility before applying by contacting Kristy Andre, Grants Co-ordinator, at 519-371-7203.
